My Good Friend Sean Favre
It feels good to draw someone brand new to the art form. Im glad I get do draw new people and hopefully inspire them like I was inspired my peers and Idols when I first started.
I have been really stressing memory drawing to artists recently. Practice by looking at someone for 30 seconds or so then draw them from memory. This will not only help to simply your your drawings for better likeness, it will also help build how you see someone and breakdown shapes immediately. Try drawing friends and co workers with absolutely no reference, then go back and look at them and see what you could have done differently. Always try to build that memory muscle and keep striving to push and better yourself with every drawing! Thank you guys for checking my blog and commenting. I really appreciate it!

That's not a bad little excersie, I might have to try that out.
i guess i have some homework to do...
good stuff here buddy, nice seeing ya posting again.
you have such an interesting live drawing style, i especially like the coloring.
Is dorney park the closest place to philly for caricaturing live? I wanna get a job doing it eventually, but it doesn't seem like there is a kaman at the philly zoo, haha.
Dan, I work at Six Flags In Jersey but live right on the edge of Philly. Dorney is about a hour from me and Jersey is 40 mins. Kamans isnt there yet but if they were, Id be there in a second. Thanks for checking frequently and commenting. My buddies and I will be planning a Philly drawing night in the future so Ill keep you updated. Later
Yeah definitely keep me updated about a drawing night, that'd be fun and a good learning experience.
And yes, a caricature stand at the zoo would be ideal, considering it's biking distance away from me.
Hey Matt! Glad to see ya posting new stuff. Count me in for drawing night too if you have one!
I often have to do that with my subwaysketches, matt as commuters can be in front of you one minute and hop of f the train the next. I find that sometimes your memory sketches are a lot stornger than your direct observational sketches.... dont understand why that is. Have you ever had that experiece?
that dude with the teef is hilarious
These are your funniest ones yet. The melting eye guy sketch takes a lot of talent to pull off.
why does the hot girl look like me??????
Truth or dare?
Truth!
Great live work!
